Reflective Essay On Patient Encounters Using Gibbs Cycle.
The assignment critically discusses a reflective practice with regards to a clinical placement I undertook. In the following critical incident that I encountered I will utilize the Gibbs Reflective Model. Gibbs reflective model is fairly straightforward and encourage a clear description of the situation.
While writing the fourth step of Gibbs reaction model, as described in the beginning of this nursing student reflection on placement, the analysis of the event should be conducted. By attending the patient in the intensive care unit of the rehab unit I have inferred that the main activities in nursing, depends on the clinical judgement and the decision making capacity of the attender.

Gibbs model of reflection incorporates the following: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and an action plan (Gibbs 1988). The model will be applied to the essay to facilitate critical thought, relating theory to practice where the model allows.
The reflection model I chose was Gibbs (1988), which included reflections on descriptions, emotions, evaluation, conclusions, and action plans (Gibbs 1988). Gibbs' (1988) reflection cycle is fairly simple, encouraging clear explanation of the situation, analysis of emotions, evaluation of experience, and analysis for understanding.
After the essay conclusion, but before the reference list, students will include their own critical reflection. Identify an event in either a work or education context.
